Cytherea's Plan is a plot devised by Cytherea the First—and potentially the Blood of Eden—to lure The Emperor back within the halo of the Dominican System so that he can be killed. Due to her death, many of the circumstances and motivations around this plot remain unclear.

Between Y1 and Y1000, Cytherea is invited to Canaan House to serve as disciple to The Emperor, John Gaius. She joins her fellow necromancers in researching what will eventually become known as The Eightfold Word, or the theorem behind Lyctorhood. Due to her advanced and terminal illness, Cytherea's cavalier, Loveday Heptane, sacrifices her life in the hopes that Cytherea would be healed in immortality.
